Does anyone have the dosage for Vitamin B-12 drops from Natures Bounty? It is 5000 MCG. I would like to add some to their water if possible?

I have seven 1 week old chicks left out of 12 chicks. Of which 9 I hatched myself and 3 I bought from a local feedstore. The following days after their hatch I lost 4 and this was before adding the 3 feedstore chicks. 1 of the 3 chicks passed 2 days after “possibly bullying” however she had 1 foot with curled toes. I suspected that they could have a vitamin deficiency. The remaining 7 are all very perky after adding a little variety of organic foods (with caution) rather than just medicated crumbles. I also mixed some pedialyte to their water. The ones from my hatch that passed would get an infection in their yolk area. I think this was to due with my incubator unfortunately. I did clean them, add iodine and antibiotic cream but unfortunately they succumbed. My incubator had high humidity no matter what I did to lower it. I decided to add a little ground oats, some fresh tomatoes and a little banana and spinach and this has really really helped clear the Pasty that they kept getting. As well this has helped their strength. I added a tablespoon of hulled sunflower seeds ground into their crumbles. I’m trying to get as many natural vitamins in their diet as I can to strengthen them. They are doing a world better. There are a few of these 7 I do worry about still and I would like to help them. 24 hours before the chicks pass they start peeping non-stop, it’s very sad.

Sorry for your loss. What you need for curled toes is riboflavin B 2, not B 12. Human super B complex 1/4 tablet or Durvet B complex injectable liquid 0.25 ml given orally daily for a couple of weeks would work. Crush the 1/4 tablet in a spoonful water and give with a dropper. I don’t give baby chicks any other foods than chick starter for 6 weeks. If they eat other foods or grass, they need chick grit available. If one is sickly I will offer some egg yolk. Yolk sac infection is usually fatal and due to infection from incubation. I have dealt with pasty butt in hatchery or feed store chicks for up to a week, and just washed it off daily while making sure they drink well. Poultry NutriDrench or Poultry Cell 2-3 drops are good then. Poultry Cell does have riboflavin and both of those have thiamine and niacin as well.
