Hi..I bought 2 young vorwerks, 14 weeks old..Yhey are 20 weeks now. They still keep themselfs to themselfs, still living separated from the flock..They are absolute terrified of the othere hens and the rooster..WhenI let them all out for free ranging in the morning, the vorwerks run into the woods and show no interest in mixing with the flock..The older hens totally ignore them.
But I would like them to join in, and be a part of the group.. How should I do this? Any suggestions out there?
When I open the little door that keep them separated, the vorwerks goes hysterical, and try to fly on the fence. Nuts..none of my other hens have ever acted like this..? Also they dont feel safe around me either, and they have been here for 6 weeks now..

Well, I did keep them in for 3 weeks in a separate coop. Fence to fence with the other hens..And then I just let them out for free ranging.. But the young ones went one way and the other girls the other way..And they have done that ever since.. Got no intentions to join the older hend..Thats a bit weird, I think?

They just need time to work out the pecking order. They'll be at the bottom until they're full sized, then, they may attempt to challenge the elder members.
