Does anyone else tend to wait until sunset to take care of bird duties? Or early in the morning? It's 107 f here today. I have the leftovers of covid and I feel completely exhausted after work. I feel like I'm being lazy by waiting for the sun to go down to do chores. I just know my body is struggling already and the heat won't help.

I always do my chicken chores right after the chickens are put away or after dark. It just makes everything so much easier when I can actually focus on what I am doing in the run and don’t have to stop chickens from eating plants and trying to help you with whatever you are doing. I just use a head lamp when it is dark.

I do my chicken chores first thing in the a.m., but it's only because I'll have anxiety all day if I don't get it out of the way 😅. It just feels like the chores are hanging over my head until they get done, and I hate that feeling.

That’s how I feel too. I guess I need to wake up a little earlier and get them done lol

No. The main part of my chicken chores is feeding and watering.
It's never occurred to me to wait till after they go to bed to feed and water them.
Hot here too. On days off I try to get them done early morning. Other days I've been doing them in stages.
Cleaning pens/brooders etc etc I've been doing on days off. Either early or also in stages.
