I love this and so glad we did it. We install irrigation systems so it was very easy, just run pvc put a valve to slow down the flow and something to catch the water.

Anything to make life easier.

You may want to put some stones or rocks in in so if they fall in they can get back out. I can't tell how deep it is, but I would worry about them drowning. Can you clean it easily? Looks pretty neat, my ducks would love it!

That looks great! I have one of the pet water fountains (normally for cats or dogs) and my chickens love it. Agree on the concern of it being possibly deep enough to drown in; if so, maybe a brick or two inside to act as stepping stones to get out?

thanks, I think it looks deeper than it is. But some bricks are not a bad idea.
It's always flowing so it shouldn't need to be cleaned I don't think
Some sand around it would look better lol
Then again we just dug it up.
Still bathe and beach what a life. :)
The chicks are six weeks today, the chickens as always need a week to get used to any change and I've noticed the goats sniffing it
My dogs drink from it if they enter the corral too.
As long as nobody gets poop in it, it will be fine.

Looks like your chickens are being bamboozled. haha. maybe you need a panda the goat can't keep up! teach your flock the 7 basic tools and they will start building their own coops with all those sticks!

hahaha
seriously though I would put a good perimeter of gravel around that. If it's always filling I can see it getting mucky. don't know your climate though.
is it sourced from a spring?

p.s i put rocks in my cats water dish to add volume and have less water also so they can see the bottom. cats can't see water so i found they see the rocks they don't have to put their paw in to see it.

Haha.......ya I have a forrest of it. I read its very good for them, they love it. Hate the great hay I bought. Raising goats is confusing.

Busted sorry couldn't really answer you well yesterday. We installed a drain pipe which shoots down to a river. We found the pipe and have no idea where it comes from. Its clean water though.
I didn't know that about cats, I'll tell my daughter she has a ton of cats.
As for drowning I saw a few chicks jump in and fly out. I havnt clipped wings and not sure if I will.
