Weak chick?

I really hope so. Keep us posted ❤️
Thank you!

Well, she’s stronger today and walking around. However, I have a new suspicion- is she blind? She bumbles around, and if the other chicks go outside of the brooder, she chirps and chirps for them. Sometimes she seems lost when she wanders outside of the brooder as well which isn’t very often. She doesn’t eat the dry food. I’ve seen her get water though if she’s placed in front of the waterer, and her foot gets dipped in it. She’s definitely stronger. But it’s like she doesn’t know that the food is there to eat it, even when her beak is dipped into the food.

Is there a possibility she’s full on the bit of egg yolk she ate yesterday?

I have a couple that do this. They're not ready to leave the heat plate and complain if they're left alone. Same if everyone goes back to the heat plate and they want to stay out.

How large are the pieces? Both sets of chicks I've had much prefer the powder and tiny crumbles at this age, so much so that I run their feed through a small blender (not to make it into dust, but just to chop up the larger pieces).

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in!

Yeah, the crumbles are definitely someone big for them I thought.

Maybe she’s just still young. But she doesn’t respond to any external thing. I snapped my fingers next to her, and she wasn’t frightened at all while as the others were startled by the noise

I'm sorry for your loss. We buried ours out in the garden. It's so sad when they don't even have a chance to get going.
Thank you- yes it is definitely sad 😔 She was extremely pitiful.
I’m grateful she wasn’t sick with anything the others could get. The two Pearl onyx are bright eyed and healthy, robust little things. And I’m praying the two I bought from a local breeder are both pullets. But they are all healthy and thriving ❤️
