I apologize if my post is long, I am currently very confused and would like if someone can help me figure this out. I had 2 white Chinese crested geese, they did great with my Pekin ducks. But the female she was a bully so I moved her and the male, to there own section. A few months later, my male passed away, so I moved my female turkey in with her, and there literally best friends. Now for you to fully understand the weird situation, my male passed away at least 3 months ago. It's now march, and yesterday momma goose, started to lay a nest of eggs. I'm 100 percent sure there way no way there fertile, and I felt bad, so I did a swap and gave her chicken eggs, from my chickens. Any ways, this morning (remind you she started to lay yesterday) I cracked open one of them for my husband breakfast. I was in complete shock to fins out the damn egg is fertile. (Yes a white dot on the yolk) how is this even possible? I know geese can hold sperms for 15 weeks. But he passed away sometime before the 15 weeks. So how are the eggs fertile? Also since I did see that, I am putting all the eggs in my incubator I'm just very confused.

White dots are in all eggs of healthy girls it means the egg is fertile BUT not fertilized thats the boy part. When it is fertilized the white dot spreads out and gets a big hallow around it. Most call that the Bullseye. With some of my geese it can be up to 1/4 inch.

Thank you, I was confused. For my chickens, don't ever think about when I do eating eggs. But for the goose I was like wait a minute lol.
