Welsh harlequin eggs per year

Does anyone know any good welsh harlequin breeders for eggs? I see the larger hatcheries have pretty low egg counts (100-150)compared to what the breed is known for(250+). Holderread claim 250+, but they have stopped breeding them. Why is there such big variation in their egg laying ability? How many eggs does your welshies lay, and where did you buy them from?

I bought mine from Murray McMurray who gets them from metzer’s , but that was nine years ago. They are wonderful. They laid about 170 eggs per year. I lost one this year to salpingitis at age 9 but the other one is still doing well.
