I've got 2 welsummer pullets, a gold and a silver, they've both been Laying brown eggs, but today the gold decided to lay a white egg. No other hens can get into their coop, and it's just her sister and their husband, I candled the egg, it's a fresh egg. It even smells fresh-...

So has this happened before? Like maybe it flew out before it could get the brown pigment? And if we hatch it will the offspring produce white eggs?

Try it and see. I had Easter Eggers quite a while ago,, that would change the shade of color of their eggs. None were white though.
I do have a Welsummer hen. Her eggs are also speckled. Are your eggs usually speckled also??
Are you sure no family member, or friend is pulling a fast one on you???

Mine haven't layed speckled eggs before, and it couldn't be a prank because, 1. The egg had a bit of blood on it meaning it wasn't store bought, 2. My leghorns already layed earlier, they are the only ones that lay white eggs, and 3. It's fertilized, so it has to be hers. I've put it under 2 hens with 14 other welsummer eggs so it better be a welsummer :D

Oh and I got an Easter egger that changed her colours aswell, from cream to green

Could you get a picture of the Welsummer?

Was it actually white, or just a very vary pale brown?
My Sussex hens normal lay brown eggs, but sometimes it seems like they run out of pigment, and they turn white looking.
But it's actually very pale brown

Can you post a pic of hen and the white egg?
