Welsummers please tell me about the breed!

long story short I have a broody hen who just hatched one chick and chicken math is very real sooooo I called tractor supply and they have one or two day old chicks! Are Welsummers healthy and friendly chickens? How long do they live? And do they have a lot of health problems?

Is it a bad idea to add more chicks to the one chick I already have? Will my broody hen be upset?

Can’t answer your chick question, but Welsummers are wonderful! Beautiful birds with beautiful speckled brown eggs. Sadly my girl died in April, I suspect she was egg bound, but no illnesses prior to this!

I’m so sorry! I lost my first hen when she was just under 1 it was so sad. Thankfully I haven’t lost anymore.
