What’s wrong with Gary the gooses beak?

My Toulouse goose Gary turned two months old two days ago. His beak has developed a flaky redish brownish scab looking growth. See picture; can anyone help me identify what might this be? Or how to help Gary? Any help is appreciated! I am a new goose owner.

Looks almost like rubbing. What kind of feeders and waterers are you using? Is he sticking his bill through a fence?

They have an old chicken feeder with holes to get food that are about an inch by 1.5 inches. Their water is a pond. Their is a fence that they could stick their beaks through if they wanted to, theirs a lot of grass on the other side of it.

Replace the chicken feeder with a big bowl, it could be rubbing as @oldhenlikesdogs said.
