What’s wrong with this!?!?!?

Cut open a raw chicken breast purchased from Walmart the other day and this is what was inside! I’ve never seen anything like this before!! Can anyone tell me what I’m looking at? Needless to say, I threw the breast away!

Looks like bloodclots. Not sure what would cause it though

I don’t think the chicken was very well if it’s breasts looked like that. I’m glad you didn’t try and eat that. I do agree with @JacinLarkwell it looks like a blood clot. Blood clots can be caused by ILT (Infectious laryngotracheitis). They can also sometimes be caused by damaged tissue, along with other things. In order to fully know what caused it the chicken would need to be alive so you can check the rest of him/her. In the end of the day you won’t truly know what caused it, and will probably never know.
