Hey everyone I just got a bottle baby pygmy and was just wondering when her horns are gonna come in. I'll post pics when I find the connector.

thanks.

As far as horn growth goes, pygmies are no different than any other goat. You should be able to feel tiny horn buds within a week or two of birth. Those will slowly grow into little nubs, then points. Does' horns don't grow as fast or as big as the bucks, of course, but they should be obvious within just a few weeks of birth.

well she was 2 weeks old when we got her, and now she is about 3 and a half weeks and you can't feel or see any evidence of horns. does that mean the previous owner dehorned her or something?

Not all pygmies get horns. You can usually feel tiny points shortly after they are born. If you don't feel any, maybe she wasnt' destined to have horns. My babies usually are about half and half.

Yes you should be able to tell by 3 weeks for sure. About half of my pygmy babies get horns. But you should be able to tell within a week. You should be able to feel little nubs and at 3 weeks you should be able to see the little nubs. I like pygmies with horns... easier to grab them when they are being naughty.
