What breeds would be compatible?

My husband sums up our situation pretty well: “It’s good that chickens won’t have to face God one day, because 98% of them are going to hell.”

Let me explain. My whole flock was picking on my White Polish, Jadwiga. They were vicious, all of them. It got so bad that she had to be permanently separated. We are building her a new Polish Palace, and I’ve been looking for more Polish chicks to be her new friends.

I’m close to the city limit for hens, and even the minimum for hatcheries would put me over. It’s also expensive and I don’t want to spend $100+ on it if I can avoid it. I’ve joined FB groups galore and can’t find any local Polish hatching eggs, chicks, pullets or hens!! But I don’t want her to be lonely. What other breeds would be friendly to her and not likely to peck out her crest??

Pic of her because she is beautiful.

Here is what I would do if you can do it...bring her and any chicken in your flock into the house or somewhere you can watch closely; but give each some time. If it doesn't work, grab the next one, etc...they are different when not in a "pack". I am confident you will find one that can be with her. Getting another Polish or silkie, etc...does not guarantee they will get along.

I have an australorp and an EE that never got along. Because the australorp has cancer, and the EE is in for another medical issue, they are together and get a long great
