Ever since one of my hatchlings was hatched his eyes have produced a lot of mucus and narrowed. After warm water compress and Vaseline around the eye, the mucus comes off and he can see. After working three days and not compressing, this is what I found. The left eye completely closed and drying shut. After another warm water compress the mucus softened and came off, but will come back. I have an electrolyte drink he drinks with vitamin A, but no help. What can I do?

How old is he?
Do you have any photos of the eyes?

Having mucous in the eye could be from a respiratory illness. Infectious Bronchitis, Infectious Coryza, ILT and Mycoplasma can all present with mucous in the eye. You also mention the eye has narrowed? Can you tell us more about that?

General eye care would be to flush the eye with saline, remove all the mucous you can and apply an ophthalmic eye ointment like Terramycin.
