I hatched out a group of eggs earlier this summer, and there is one chick that is unusually colored. The father is blue and gold (split for chocolate from a chocolate partridge bantam Orpington). The two strongest possibilities for mother are a black Silkie/Bantam Orpington hen and a blue/gold birchen Silkie/Bantam Orpington hen.
The chick has red skin on it's face and green legs. The head and neck are blueish grey. The chest has red/russet on it, so does the back and wings.
The white and red reminds me of Red Pyle but the head/ neck color means it's not Red Pyle. I have no idea where the white even came from, I have never had a white chicken or even a Red Pyle chicken.
What do you think?
Thanks!
