I've been looking at pictures to find out but haven't had much luck. I am just getting into it would be nice to be able to tell people

nice side picture so you can see the color on their wings.

The male on the left has blue wing markings but the color of his chest is the same as his body. the hen next to him has a blackish bill and white bib with other white splashes. The male on the right looks typical grey but has black on his wings as does the front center hen. Of the two typical grey looking hens one has a violet/purple wing color and the other has the teal color as shown in the above picture.

the two in the back left i know are not call ducks.

Any help to identify the colors would be greatly appreciated, as well as any advice you would like to pass along. They are all very intelligent animals and I love them all no matter what their colors are.

Thank you very much. I am trying to hatch out some babies in a few weeks for the first time. But everything I read is that if i am doing everything perfect half of the 25 eggs I have will make it. From the sounds of posts on here I will be lucky to have a handful when it is all said and done. Right now after doing the first candling of them I have 17 that I know are developing and a five that might be iffy. That is why I am willing to listen to any advice anyone wants to share. I am soo excited and I hope things go well the beginning of May.

Looking at the bottom pic (and at the Calls only) I'd say you have, from left to right:

Pastel Duck.........Dusky Drake (he is the Dusky pattern like a Dark Campbell - no neck ring or claret breast).......Blue Fawn Drake........Light Phase or Trout Duck (don't know whether this has a special name in Calls).....Light Phase or Trout Duck........Mallard pattern Drake (I think???, though I'm not sure what you mean by 'black on his wings'.

Duck colour genes are not as straightforward as we'd like them to be....but that's my best guess (bear in mind that though I have a little knowledge of colours I don't know what the proper colour names are in Calls) :)

They are beautiful ducks that you have there :)

Thank you for the color names it helps a lot. The black on the wings is that instead of the blue being on the wings like some of the others in the top picture he has a dark grey almost black color. it is the same with the pastel color on the far left as well.

If you keep them all penned together and not separated by color for breeding you will hatch mixed colored ducklings with no guarantee of off spring color. Yes calls are very hard to incubate and hatch, the short bills make it more difficult.

I ad my first hatch of call ducks easter weekend from eggs I got off ebay... 24eggs

I had a 90% hatch rate and none have died. I hand turned them.

Then I got another set off ebay from someone I knew and looks like I am going to have none 12-18eggs
I used a turner and will never do that again!

I think it is the luck of the draw.

i have some of my own call duck eggs in the incubator.
