Questions sometimes arise as to how much this or that turkey should weigh. Next season I intend to keep weekly weights and make some growth curves. Just for fun, I weighed some of my birds at 20 weeks. Here is what I found.

St Bronze tom 20 lb
St Bronze hen 11 lb
Bourbon Red tom 15 lb
Bourbon Red hen 8 lb
Narragansett tom 15 lb
Narragansett tom 11 lb
Narragansett hen 6 lb (this one seems a little small, even the midget white hen is bigger then she is)
Royal Palm tom 13 lb
Royal Palm tom 11 lb

Does anybody else weigh birds as they grow?

I really need to go out a weight mine. I getting ready to leave to Las Vegas again so I have to do it when I get back. I have noticed alot of weight gain this week. My baby's don't look like babies anymore. I picked up a few hens that needed there wings clipped. I have no idea how they are getting off the ground. They are heavy. It must be our high winds hitting them just right and blowing them over the 6 foot fence. I do try to keep good records so I know what breeders to keep and how my breeders are doing. Some times it is like blank pages in the baby books of my kids (Bad Mom). You wonder when did they grow up. It happens so fast.
