What do id do with the shells after the chicks have hatched

Do I remove them from the nest or leave them for mum to deal with

Also 3 have hatched the 4th one not yet, how long do I leave it before I remove it?

Leave the shells and any unhatched eggs until mum leaves the nest.
I usually break open any unhatched eggs out of curiosity. Sometimes it’s a bit gruesome. If you don’t fancy that then take them somewhere where there is wildlife and leave the eggs broken there.

You can remove the empty shells or leave them,
I usually take them out as I check the chicks...
....she may eat them before I can remove them.
Unhatched eggs I wait until mama leaves the nest.
