but do they breed/mate like chickens do??? sorry.. just havent a clue..LOL

I saw this strange like fan thing the other day.. the peacock.. came up to the girl.. and then lifted his fan up.. but it went over her like it was covering her.. is THAT?????

The male will fan the train and vibrate his tail feathers for the hen. On the actual mating he will mount her like a chicken will. If you listen closely to them the hen will usually cluck when he mounts.

My male will also make this crazy train whistle like call, throw his feathers and body in a swooping semi circle and grab the hen and mount like chickens. He kinda reminds me of a bullfighter swooping his cape!

Lmao..well, I had a ton of people over yesterday, and u should have seen us all thinking all kinds of thing on how do they mate..heheh

You know iam new at any fowl..I just got chickens in December and I hatched them..so I have never seen that kind of mating..lmao

I didn't know if they run up and leap on, if they back up, lol, if they spring up and pin down..lmao
That's what I mean..lmao

I've never seen chickens mate either

So I didn't know what to look for or not..hehehe

Infact yesterday is when I saw the peacock do his dance thing and then he backed up to her, and the tail fanned over her..but she didn't look interested..but then I didn't see her, so the fan covered her..could then then have mated?

Thank u..so maybe that side throwing the fan over was the beginning and then she rejected..cause that was it..a whole 2 seconds and I couldn't see under his fan, so..heck if I knew how they choose to mate..lol

Thank u though

I think the OP's question has been answered.

Please confine posts to poultry mating.
