What is a good book for a beginner?

Gail Damerow "Storey's guide to raising chickens" covers a lot of things and is aimed at backyard chicken keepers. It's definitely the one book I would have liked to have read as a beginner, and it is still in some ways useful to me now.

It is a bit generalist and some of the information is maybe slightly old school, but it's really worth a read.

Any recommendations for a good book that covers everything backyard chicken-related? There’s so much information on the website but I feel like I need to read about it too! TIA

My 1st go-to:

My 2nd go-to:

There are many others! I have some, but these 2 cover pretty much everything. Then you can branch out.

Edit to add - & both are listed above. LOL!

I have been raising Chickens for over 40 years. I have several books I have read through my life to gain all the knowledge I can. Some are ok for beginners, sometimes they are overwhelming. Just recently I purchased a book last week and read it. It is probably the best I have ever read, especially for beginners. This is my opinion anyway. This is the book. I highly recommend it.
