This is embarrassing. I've forgotten what some of my chickens are and my spreadsheet is messed up. This is my 4th post asking for identification help. I think I knew the others I just posted (EEs and Black Star), but I'm not sure. I absolutely cannot remember what this lovely blue/black chicken is. Please help!

Thank you!

Oooh...interesting.

I've never purchased a Brahma nor Blue Copper Marans (until 2 weeks ago, so they are tiny and cute and look like penguins!) But now that you mention it, she does look like a BCM, doesn't she? But her eggs aren't that dark, FWIW.

Honestly, I'm not sure what color eggs she lays, but no one in my house lays dark.

I've had many EEs, but I thought I only had 2 in my henhouse, and they are the 2 I posted earlier. I always have a couple of EEs. :) Maybe she could be an EE and I lost count. Clearly, I've gotten myself confused.

I was pretty sure at some point I bought an Ameraucana, but no one looks quite right. None of my girls have the cheeks for it. But humor me for a bit, could either this one or one of the two EEs I just posted be an Ameraucana?

Neither of the other birds are true Ameraucanas. Do you have a beard plucker? I've had hens end up with their beards plucked leading to that same bare-skinned appearance. If she is indeed bearded (and plucked as it appears) she could be an Ameraucana. Can I have a picture of her shank color/foot bottoms?

These are the same bird but different periods after her molt, could look very different

I'll try to get pictures later...maybe tomorrow. I am about to head out for a little medical thing.

Thanks for your help.

I don’t think she could be an Ameraucana. Some of my BCMs lay a light- almost orange egg. I think she would have to be an EE if you don’t have any BCMs (that aren’t chicks).
