I already breeding japanese quail and button quail, but they are so skittish.
so im going to adopt new quail, but i dont have information. please poll this and leave the reason. Thank you : )

Do not recommend other quail species. Korean cant breed another species, only this quails can be breed)

What really matters when raising quail as pets is how much you handle them, and while some quail can be naturally more tame than others most can be tamed through repeated handling and the giving of treats as rewards. Instead of getting different quail I would maybe try working with the quail you have now, as honestly the species you have are probably the easiest to work with (A&M quail are the same species as Japanese, Coturnix coturnix, so there wouldn't be too much difference in behavior)

Thank you for your reply. I already tamed my japanese quail : ) so im gonna tamed another quail like bobwhite.

I wouldn't recommend keeping just one quail, both bobwhite and California quail do best in pairs and both have distinct breeding seasons where they become aggressive towards any other quail, including their mate if kept in close quarters. The space you have available would maybe be okay for a pair of bobwhite but definitely not for California, they need an aviary setup to thrive. Are you keeping them indoors?

Oh I see. And..Yes! I keeping them indoors.

Okay, well I wouldn't recommend keeping either bobwhite or California indoors and with the space you have available, maybe you could try breeding different color morphs of button and Coturnix quail? Or you could try keeping serama bantams if you're allowed to keep chickens where you live.

I'd consider only Japanese quail as having 'pet' qualities. Buttons are fine if you just want to watch them but Japanese quail can be very docile and friendly and easy to handle. Japanese quail personalities are genetic so if you breed unfriendly, aggressive birds that's the kind of offspring you will get. Certain colours can be more docile than others depending on your location. For me my Golds are so laid back they are almost horizontal (so the saying goes). They are just so friendly and sweet and love a pat and a cuddle. My Buttons are pretty tame because they get handled by our daughter and are used to a lot of human contact (the ones in the aviary frequently peck at my feet), but they still don't want to be handled like my Japanese quail do. Other quail breeds aren't as domesticated so are a lot more wild.
