My baby pygmy goat has so much lice, I feel so bad for her! What should I use to get rid of it? I'm looking for something not too much and that works!

Thanks,
Sarah

Your best bet is to go to the feed store and buy some louse powder. Dust the goat with it, particularly along the topline. It's cheap, safe, and works as well as anything. Ivermec works, but it is effective on either biting lice or chewing lice, I forget which, but not both. I have no idea how to tell the difference between biting lice and chewing lice.

With a little baby goat, I would be tempted to use a puppy or kitty flea/tick/lice shampoo.

Usually those are super gentle, will have ingredients to sooth the itchy skin, and the bathing will hopefully immediately get rid of many of the beasts.

I personally use blue dawn dish soap. Bathe once, lather up and leave it on for five minutes, rinse and do again in two weeks to kill any stragglers.
