I know I already made a post today but I was wondering, when on day 18 should I do lockdown? should it be the time I put them in? Like if I put it at 1:00 pm do I do lockdown at 1:00 at day 18? Specifically is there a number of hours until lockdown? (Since 18 days is 432, should I do it 432 hours since I first put them in the incubator?) Thank you in advance.

It’s okay not to be suppppperrrr exact. 1:00pm on day 18 is fine, so is 7:00am on day 18

You do not need to be super exact.

I've put some into lockdown as early as day 17 and usually do it late on day 18 or early on day 19.

This week I had one egg start pipping in the turner early on day 18 - I carefully moved to the hatcher, made sure humidity was tickityboo and 2 hours later my early baby hatched. Guess he was in a hurry to join the world hehe.

Note: My eggs are incubated upright (air cell up) so it's less of a problem if the chick starts hatching in the turner. If you are incubating eggs on their side with a "roller" then you are safer to start lockdown late day 17 or early day 18 to give your chick plenty of time to orient itself well for hatching.
