Hunting and Trapping season for coyote is coming up in the fall here, Oct 15-Feb 28 hunting & Oct 15-Jan 31 Trapping.

What would be the best kind of bait to use to trap them??

Thanks!!

Dirt hole sets work great or Urine posts are about the best two.
Try a website devoted to trapping trapperman.com great site lots of friendly people there to help out.

My son is a trapper and tells me that chickens and .....gulp....cats are their favorite, but you can use other mixes too. He's not here at the moment , but I will make sure to double check with him tonight when he gets home.

I used to just sit on a bluff over-looking the river and call them in with a cassette tape of a wounded rabbit. Let the first one come in close before shooting and then shoot the others that come in at a little longer range. You can usually get four of five before you need to move locations.

Excellent idea!! We have a creek that divides out property...I'm sure my husband would love that idea...he just put in a shooting range of 150 yds. this spring...so he's been practicing!!

Few of my favorites are:
- mice, catch them freeze them and just let them thaw before using
- coyote droppings, on the backing use the droppings freshended with urine,

I plan now on using chicken and turkey feathers and droppings to see.

also plan on taping the chickens and trying that at night,

trapperman is a great website so is traps4kids
