What to do with unwanted male males?

We're wanting to hatch out some new baby birds (both chickens and ducks). Unfortunately due to buying straight runs and some unfortunate events of hens dying we now have far too many drakes (7/15 total ducks). We need some hens to even out the flock but ordering directly from a hatchery is too expensive and every farm store sells them unsexed. The other solution would be to incubate or let a mama go broody.

This brings me to my question: when you hatch out babies, what do you do with unwanted males (as I assume you'd end up with roughly 50/50)?

Ducks or Chickens, unwanted males you Either need to Rehome or you can Turn them into Chicken Noodle Soup when bigger

I have sold some drakes by putting them on Craigslist. Other drakes I have sold at the local livestock auction. Currently planning making a meal out of a couple drakes.

Side note: as waterfowl form pairs I keep the same number of drakes as duck hens.

Wait really? I've always been told to keep a ratio of like 4 hens to each drake. If you can do 50/50 that would make things much easier
