What track is this?

I think it's an opossum, but I'm not 100% sure.
These tracks are circling my chicken coop and came from the creek, which is where it returned.

I had 1 person say raccoon and 1 say opossum, I'm leaning towards opossum but still making sure.

I've never seen a lot of opossum tracks, but there's a lot of coons in my parents' woods. Those are not coon tracks.]

EDT: Raccoon tracks sort of taper down the fingers, and they look like little hands. The toes are rarely spread very much, and generally point straight ahead.

Yeah didnt think so, but I'm no track master so I thought it would be better to seek help in identifying whatever it is will be shot if it comes back!

That’s definitely an opossum. You can tell by the gait of the track.

Since they aren’t fast my suggestion is to wait for it to come back and wack it with a shovel. Like a big game of wack-a-mole

I just couldn’t do that! The last time we had an opossum sneaking around the coop, we trapped it in a live trap and released it several miles away. My husband is a hunter and even HE likes to trap and release. Now, if the critter killed one of my chickens, it would be a totally different story!!!! I’d kill the #$&@==$&#%!
