What type of plywood for roofing do I use?

I was planning on Corrugated roofing but changed my mind when I realized how much sun my run is going to get for half the day. I found a huge stack of shingles (asphalt?) in our shed, I'm thinking it would be much cooler under a more solid roof. I'm thinking of leaving a few feet on the end in the corrugated to allow the sun in to warm them on colder days. What type of plywood should I get. Thickness? I'm sure they would help me a Lowes but I wanted to do some pricing ahead of time and a second opinion is always a good idea

I used an old plywood ping pong table that I pulled out of the trash.

I used 1/2inch c/d ply. I used 3/4 inch exterior a/c ply for the floor.

Perfect I have two pieces of 1/2" already and one 3/4" (?) from old bunk beds. I'll stick with the 1/2" since I have more of it (I'm assuming I can't mix). I wasn't sure if it was thick enough. Good to know it is.

I wouldn't mix just to make sure the roof can go on flat.

If you have to buy and you want to keep it on the cheap side then check out 7/16" OSB (also called chip board). This is usually the cheapest plywood you can buy for doing a roof like that. As long as it's covered and shingled properly you will not have any issues with it. In my area it cost $6.77 a sheet.

I still think I'll leave the last little section covered in tinted corrugated to let let in a little sun on days they can't get out to free range.

DH and I are NOT good at building things and thought we had a contractor friend helping us, but just found out we're on our own (scary thought lol) So I really appreciate the good advice given here. Thanks!!!
