Hello folks, been awhile since I used an online forum. Just want to say as it's my first post, sorry for jumping right into the deep end 😅. I also want to say, I don't need to be handfed info on things, but do appreciate being told what direction to look in for researching and learning...thing is, I don't know what I don't know with birds at the moment.

Jumped on to ask a quick couple simple (hopefully simple) questions about my parents turkey.

-What kind of turkey is she, my dad doesnt recall
-Does her underside look alright? It doesn't look good to my untrained eye, even brutal... but I've been browsing the forums and figure it may be nothing to worry about...y'all tell me.

The Turkey's name is Phoebe, as in Phoebe from the show Friends because she's super friendly and outgoing...but not the brightest 😅.

It looks like a broad breasted white to me.

It's underside looks pretty much normal for a turkey that is "roosting" on the ground.

My recommendation is to provide a bale of hay or straw as a roosting site. You may also want to switch to Purina® Game Bird Maintenance feed which is 12.5% protein to help control its weight.
