they make this sound every day in corner nest between 2pm-6pm for 5-30 mins

is it possible my quail both or something as the 2 i have females that lay eggs (some days i get 3 eggs in 24hours)

Mine do that all the time, especially when they'e laying. I'm not sure why either, but my birds are fine.

Mine do it, too. In my opinion, it's an egg song. Quail generally lay in the afternoon, so the fact that you're noticing it then suggests that it's related to laying.

Thank you! We got a chorus of this tonight (although my two hens aren't laying in sync, and they only do it for the Pharoh hen, but they do it together. ) I kinda thought it was an egg song, but it sounds so sad! Wanted to make sure.

My hens do this right before and right after laying eggs and usually lay between 4-7pm. The first time I heard it, I thought one was hurt. But no, just letting everyone know their accomplishment.

This is the quail egg song. They make this noise every time they lay an egg, and some of them sing before or after they lay. It’s like the chicken egg song where hens cackle, except quail egg song is more like a whistle.
