Wheat dough for baby chickens, safe or unsafe?

I have about 30 chicks , 5 days old and they seem to enjoy wheat dough a lot. Is it safe to feed wheat dough to baby chickens? Please guide.

It's a dough made from wheat flour nothing else.

I think anything other than their regular chick feed dilutes the nutrition they need and should be avoided or given in very small amts.

Thanks Sue. So wheat dough is safe in smaller quantities but we should not compromise on nutritional value.
