I have MANY babies, and all but 10 that we have are for eggs. when do I stop feeding chick crumble, and switch to a layer feed. The other 10 are japanese bantams, for my kids. What kind of food do I feed them? And when I switch foods, do I do it gradually, like you would do for a puppy?

Thanks Everyone!

If seperate chick starter and grower is available where you live then you switch from starter to grower at 6 to 8 weeks. They stay on grower until 18 to 20 weeks or when you get your first egg; whichever comes first.
If all that's available is a combo. chick starter/grower than you would feed that until the 18 to 20 weeks mark.
It's best to make the change gradually, if at all possible.
