When to introduce chicks to solo (and mostly blind) hen?

Once Florence was gone she needed a very stable environment to know where the food was, where the water was, etc.
Oh, that's a really good point that I hadn't considered. Right now, the food and water are located under the hen house-- in the exact location where we plan to sequester the chicks, so I assumed we'd just move the adult birds' food and water to a different part of the run. But Hope doesn't have Sally Ride to help her find the food and water.
Maybe I should move Hope's food and water sooner rather than later, and help her find it, so she can get used to the new set-up before also having chicks to contend with.

If you can figure out a way not to move the food I would try to do that. That was really hard on my hen. I have used a wire dog kennel for chick introductions with great success and it looks like you could fit one in your run. Then Hope and the one pullet could have the rest of the space and food and water could stay where they are for Hope.
