Hey y’all, so as a few of you probably know, I’m moving soon. Well I won’t be able to move into the house myself until Saturday because of house work, and it’s Thursday night here now. Well I need to get hay for the horses Saturday morning before we move, and I won’t have another chance to move the ducks and chickens…. Unless we do it tomorrow (Friday). My only concern is, no one will be there overnight. No other animals, just the chickens and ducks. I don’t really have a choice. I’m concerned about them being in new coops without someone there, but in reality I don’t know what I could even do if I was there other than get up overnight and check, which would just probably disturb them. I can get there in the morning after I get hay… maybe around 8-9 though. I don’t have another option unfortunately since half the fam is out of town and we are crunched for time. So my question is, should I move them tomorrow morning? Or should I move them tomorrow night? We have a horse trailer we will be using for the birds as well as some dog crates for the heavier breeds such as pekin ducks, Brahma chickens etc. the other thing is, I don’t have roosts set up yet, don’t have a run yet, and I need to add a lock to the coop door there, but I’m in such a crunch of time that I can’t do that before we get them there, but I can most likely do it when they get there. What do y’all think I should do? Any suggestions for the smoothest move possible would be much appreciated.
