When to switch ducklings to adult feed?

So I have about 5-7 week old ducklings! When do I take them off crumbles? We are almost out of our 50lb bag of crumbles. And we just out them on adult feed right? That’s what we have always done so I hope we have done it right❤️

I'm not sure how much it matters but when I brought one of my ducks to the vet about a year ago she was 2 or 3 months old at the time and I had already switched to adult feed because they were full grown but the vet recommended I keep using baby duck feed for awhile. My girls that I still have now I switched them over from baby to adult duck feed around 4 months. Note I have Muscovy and they usually take a little longer to grow than some mallard derived breeds so this might not apply to you.

You can switch to a pellet feed. You will need to provide grit if they are not free ranging. The most important thing is do not give them a layer feed. The calcium levels are too high for them in a layer and can cause them harm. They should not have any layer feed until they start to lay eggs.

I have been switching to pellets (allflock) at four weeks or when the crumbles are gone, mixing 20% oats until eight weeks to cut the protien down to prevent angel wing and then back to just pellets.
All my ducks have had access to forage at two weeks. After twelve weeks I supplement with a small breakfast of pellets and oats, but they get most of their diet from foraging. On mornings when the ground is frozen I give them a huge breakfast of pellets and oats.

At their age, you can switch them over to Purina Flock Raiser which is formulated for birds of all ages, just provide a calcium supplement once they are of laying age. If not, you could wait a week or two more, and feed them All Flock Feed pellets by Nuterna, or Duck Feed Pellets.
