When will Mallard Drakes get the green head?

I can't tell the gender of my 7 week old mallard/rouen by quack. Does the green head come in with the first set of feathers come in? I am really hoping for a hen.

I have a 5-6 week old mallard that has a green head.

I usually see the males' head start to turn green at about 13 to 14 weeks old. But, you should be able to tell before then. Most of the ones that I've seen at 7 or 8 weeks have yellow bills and are starting to get a raspy quack.

I have 3 of mine that have green sheen to their heads and they are 4+/- weeks old....I cant seem to figure out their quacks/chirps yet...Ive been listening alot and its a hard talent to master!!!!!

My 4 mallards are 6 weeks....3 have a green sheen to their heads, and only 1 quacks. Lucky me.

My duck with the green head also quacks the loudest so i really don't know what to think:/

I have a mallard male and he is already 4 months old no quack (raspy voice) and green yellow bill. No sex feathers Help!!

Female mallards start quacking at the 5 or 6 weeks old, their beck don't change the colour but the males beck turns to yellow. With 3 months it's completly yellow and with 4 months they hace their adult plumage.
