Where are the rare and exotic pidgeons or doves?

I did a search on BYC and was totally shocked and dissapointed no one has any pictures of these birds whatsoever.Not one pic let alone a thread !!!!!!!!!!!! I also mention this because I just saw the fancy and rare threads here back to back but as I looked thru them while some were nice it was all domesticated birds. Doesnt anyone keep wild-type birds.????? If you have some pics post em here. Im sure people would LOVE to see em. I know I sure would!

Most of the wild species of doves are kept by specialists who have a different outlook than the casual pet type mentality prevalent here. Those breeders tend to associate with others of a similar mentality, who can swap information more in keeping with their needs. Relatively few wild species of doves are found in pet channels, so the need for the experts to pass on information to pet keepers is limited too. Try the American Dove Association or the GBWF.

Thats probably very much the case. Very familiar with GBWF of course. will look at ADA site. thanks for that info. Just figured Id see who kept some here as well and wanted to post some pics. Thats all.

I just wanted to see some pics of what people are keeping nowadays. I would love to look at some of the fruit doves.But some I like are greenwings, nicobars ,triangular spotted,and of course the biggest most expensive one of all victoria crowned. But any of the wild ones really.
