Ok, I know this is an odd questions, but I want to know~

My chickens don't seem to enjoy being pet like a dog or cat does. I know that my dogs love when I scratch their backs right above the tail, so where do chickens like it?

I am not sure but my chickens love when you hold them like a baby and then they fall asleep!

Also they like when you rub their wattle and comb.

My roo likes to be rubbed under his wings, on the soft fleshy armpit area where there are no feathers. It's funny how each bird is different. Mine all hate having their wattles and comb touched, but they're getting used to it.

Most will get used to petting on their backs if you hold them and calm them for a while. Then they grow to like it.
I could cuddle my chickens all day!!!!!

When I was little I could turn chickens upside down and stroke their breast bone and they'd go to sleep. I haven't been able to do that with my new pullets, but I haven't really tried either because I felt bad for them. lol

My favourite (the one who is most tame) now comes running if I pick up any other and loves to be picked up herself. She likes a neck rub or a cuddle while I stroke her back, or playing with the feathers that cover her ears. Lots of things really. She is a real sweetie.

One of my buffs and one of the barred rocks love me to scratch the base of their necks. They come running to me and try to jump in my arms every time I go near them!

Several of my hens love to have their backs/butts scratched just like a dog. A couple who don't like to be touched otherwise, will get pushy to get butt scratches.

A couple of my buff orpington like having their backs scratched, and they raise their hinies in the air like my dogs and cats. The other six chickens don't like it. It's funny. I''ve only had chickens since August of 2018, so it's all new to me.

I have one who enjoys gentle pets on her neck and body and soft massage on her comb. The rest hate their combs touched.

I have one who likes gentle scratches on her head esp if shes molting at all, but mostly just prefers to be held.

I have one who likes being petted under her wings.
