I think longest lasting depends on brand, type, and environment it's done in, not color. ;)

I would go with a color that matches your house or garage if that matters. A combination that I think looks great that some are doing on here is a yellow coop with white trim.
 
I painted my coop solely based on the name of the color: Chocolate BonBon. (Because I love chocolate.) When we put on the addition, I could tell it had faded a bit in three years, but not too badly.

The interior is white because you can get a 5 gallon bucket of exterior grade white for a reasonable price. And because it helps keep the interior a little brighter during these dark gloomy days.

Hide the dust though? :lau As if.

I agree, just make it pretty! And paint the interior white for brightness, or whitewash it (the lime helps kill nasties.)
