White face cockatiel sexing

I’m getting a cockatiel soon, and I think I’ve picked out the bird I want! It’s an eleven week old hand tamed Whiteface Cinnamon Pearl. Can anyone take a gander on the sex?

That is a beautiful bird! I'm not an expert on sexing cockatiels in the slightest but everything I've read says you will have to wait until s/he has molted to tell (which won't be until he is 6+ months old). I believe you can get a DNA if you want to know earlier but those can be a bit pricey.

You might consider joining one of the bird forums to get some expert opinions (if you haven't already).

If it keeps the pearls its a female if it molts them out its a male

Lol, I mainly just need to know the sex for naming purposes and so I don’t get into the habit of calling it he and it turns out to be female or something so I have to change around everything XD. I’m signing up for a cockatiel forum right now!

What poultry said about the molting.

If s/he's only about 2-3 months old you still have 3-8 more months before you can tell the sex. I'd go with a gender neutral name.
