We have been raising Chickens for 10 years and have about 20 chickens that are full-blooded barn yards. There is a stronger base of Rhode Island Reds but probably about 6 other breeds because my wife liked beautiful chickens and sent me all over KY buying different ones for looks and we ended up with a mix. The plan is to get to about 150+ with 1/3 Rhode Islands, 1/3 Barrard Plymouth Rock, and 1/3 American Bresse and have a breading program to rotate them out every two years for each group. Let me know if you think that is a crazy plan. I'm going to "retire" to the farm in a year but right now the only thing I am good at raising is Great Pyrenees dogs. Well, I'm not good at that it is happening more than I need to have that feed bill. I found this sight and joined because I am rebuilding my Farm Master Incubator and have run past my ability and found this sight because it looks like a few have done this the right way before me.
