I have a Jersey Giant. Just one hen though. What state are you from? Are you hatching the eggs? I only have a RIR rooster though. My JG Raven is nice enough. She has 6 JG/RIR pullets. Not purebred though.I’m looking for good quality Jersey Giant chicks or eggs.
Check on eBay for the seller out of New Jersey who sells BJG along with Rhode Island whites, and Delaware’s. I purchased eggs from him and am very please with hatch rates and the chicks which are now roughly 10 weeks.I’m looking for good quality Jersey Giant chicks or eggs.
Your poor hens!!lolWe have a male and female from Eagle Nest Poultry in Oceola, OH. When our male was 11.5 months old he was nearly 11lbs. Standard for full grown rooster is 13lbs, so he should make the weight by the time he is full grown. He is pretty big! He also appear to be a good representation of the APA standard (right size, color, comb points, back, tail angle/shape/size). They list their BJG as "Exhibition Quality" although not all of their chicken breeds are listed that way. They do not list their BJG online, you would need to call and ask for availability, and they only sell black. The female won 2nd for breed at the county fair, but was only 5months old, and the judge was impressed at how nice she looked at that age and indicated she would turn into a very nice BJG.
Here are a few recent pics of the male, who is 13-14 months old in the pics. The coop is 2.5' above the ground, and I was trying to take the pics even with the chickens, rather than from above. The females in the pic are SLW first pic, and Frost White Legbar second pic, so you can see how big he is comparatively. We get fertile eggs, so he manages, and the girls don't seem to be injured or harassed (we have 10 laying pullets/hens).

Here are the male and female around 4 months of age, developing nicely (front two birds):

Of course the size is impressive! But, we had an issue with using the wide/flat side of a 2x4 as a roost. The BJG male developed a huge breast blister. We turned the roosts to the narrow side and he is doing much better, and it is mostly gone now after treatment. Here is the thread with pics on that issue: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...ed-thing-on-roos-chest.1292202/#post-20988160
