Who sells just 3 chickens?

Which hatcheries sell just three chicks?
Are there any hatcheries that sell a single juvenile pullet?

Sometimes MPC will sell 3 standard chicks, it depends on where you're located. No hatchery will sell less than that though, most require at least 6, usually 15+

Hatcheries will not ship so few. When we bought chicks twenty years ago we had to order a minimum of 25. Tractor Supply sells a minimum of 4, at least the two I shop in do.

Well, what happens if you are allowed to have 4, and one dies and you desparately want to replace it but have farms nearby?

Do you mean don't have farms (otherwise I'd see about buying them from a local farmer)? Other options are buying from feed stores, private breeders/sellers, auctions, or splitting a larger order with someone.

Sorry. Yes, I meant if you did not have any farms nearby.

Meyer Hatchery will sell a minimum of three from -- if I remember right -- April through October, according to its website.

Mt Healthy has a minimum of 3, I believe, but it has to be during warmer months. Starting in April, IIRC?
