I've had my finches for about a month now, but they're not laying eggs at all. The have a nice nest, materials and they are perfect for each other. And about twice now, they have even started mating. The male, Mr. Tweezers, always is singing, and seems happy, and the two of them sit by a window close to the sun. I feel like I did this right, but can anyone tell me what's wrong?

the male will start building a nest before female starts laying eggs. give them time. I have 23 finches. sometimes the female needs calcium, sometimes I think the female just likes the male to get the nest just right before she lays. also she might not be quite old enough to produce mature eggs yet. Give them a cuttle bone or egg shells that have been put through the microwave for 2 minutes to kill samanella. Give them time, couple more weeks. whites and pied are my favorite colors I have.

A lot of times when you buy zebras at a pet store they are very very young so just give it time. Like the previous poster said, when he starts working on the nest things are happening.

Are you sure they are male and female? Are they old enough to breed and lay eggs?Petamin(spelling)is supposed to help promote egg laying. It should be available at your local pet shop.
