I just wonder why my chickens have combs and waddles.

I mean like what are they for?
One of my roosters got his waddle torn off by the hens,
but no sign of blood.

isn't it supposed to be bleeding?

Comb: Used for temperature regulation as well as a sexual indicator.

Wattles: Used for temperature regulation as well as sexual indicator.

Both the comb and wattle can be looked at for health/wellness status as well.

Why do humans have eye brows? lol Sorry had to ask that! lol

Yeah what Rodriguez poultry said! Hmm Im surprised your roos comb didnt bleed because I know when people dub, it usually bleeds.

Waddle is how a duck walks. A wattle is the appendage on the chicken's head.

It could be any number of things. It could have been that it bled while you weren't there, it could also be that the hen did not get a very vascular part of your rooster's wattle.
