Why no H5N1 vaccine for poultry?

What about vaccines for poultry in order to prevent and control avian bird flu? Why do only humans get the vaccine and not birds? Also baby poultry get vaccinated for Mareks and why don’t they get a vaccine for bird flu?

As I understand it, there are two types of H5N1 vaccines for chickens.
I don't know the cost. I know for the commercial industry, the labor cost for some medical procedures is prohibitive. That's why most things are done by automation equipment with in ovo injections.
It takes a long time and a lot of manpower to handle millions of birds.

After reading up on the effects of Green Tea and H5N1, I have started an experimental treatment with my flock of 17 birds.

Research is showing that the green tea helps the chickens resist the H5N1 virus.... and potentially kills it.

I live in a State where migratory birds pass through, so I know my birds can be potentially exposed to the H5NI virus.

To date.... My birds aren't showing any symptoms of H5N1

However....after doing some more research... It appears that the H5N1 virus can/has passed from the infected bird...and into the yolk.

Scrambled eggs still seem to still be edible, due to the heat, but am not sure that infected yolk would be safe for baking.

I have more eggs than I can even eat. Contacted a shelter to see if they would like routine donations. No one ever got back to me.

Assuming the shelter serves food, it must have something to do with legal ramifications in not knowing for sure where the eggs come from....I don't know, just guessing.

I wonder if you could contact local churches as they seem to know who the less fortunate / needy families are in their sphere of influence. Just an idea.

Yep. I will do that. I wanted to give to a battered woman’s shelter or something. But any good cause will work.

In the NY area? My eggs are likely fertilized too so you wanted to hatch any there is that - either BOs or a BO/Black Australorp mix depending on the hen.

Pretty sure the eggs require FDA approval. I was at a local (family owned) restaurant recently, and the owner turned mine down for that reason.
