My hubby bought a small bag of wild bird seed thinking that wild bird seed would be a nice treat for our ducks. Would this be an ok treat for them. They wouldn't get it as a primary food but just a little when we go and interact with them. It has milo, millet, cracked corn, and sunflower.

rainplace~ thankyou, I was thinking it would be ok, I was just concerned about the sunflower seeds in it. Can they eat those ok?

they are older, yes? If so, then I think it's fine. BRB gonna get my book.

My ducks eat wild bird seeds and love it. They love the cracked corn, but leave the sunflower seeds alone unless I crack open it for them. Sunflower seeds get eaten up by the squirrels. They love those! So no waste all around.

thanks everyone! We gave them some yesterday evening and they loved it. They did spit out the sunflower seeds so I guess I don't have to worry about that since they are not going to eat them. (they probably know best what they can eat) We threw a little on the ground and they loved picking at it, they almost looked like chickens

. The funiest part was my son feeding them, since the ducks are getting bigger and my sons 2 year old fingers haven't they will put his whole finger in there mouths while they are eating out of his hand.
