We have a small hobby farm with a variety of ducks. Some of which were Mallards that we raised. Some wild ones even stayed with us for the winter! Love it!
I am looking for some more wild ducks that I can either get as eggs or chicks. I found that if I can raise them from the beginning near the pond and their winter building, they are less scared and I have a better chance of them either staying for the winter or coming back after winter.
QUESTION: Where can I find wild duck eggs or chicks?? Most farms want to only sell as adults (or pinioned which we do not want).
Edit* Other breeds like Mandarin, Wood, Red Crested, Hooded Merganser. We do not force our birds to stay. We have a five acre pond, safety, food, and warmth in the winter. The birds choose to stay
