My chickens got into my garden yesterday and ate all the green tops off of my beets and carrots, and also some of the vegetables that they were able to dig up. As most of us know, beets stain everything a pinkish-red. Will the contents of their eggs be affected by consuming beets and their greens?

I have no clue but now I'm tempted to go buy some beets and feed them to my chickens to find out

I don't know about beets, but our chickens eat some wild berries here in the summer that turn their yolks a deep deep deep orange, almost red, color! Very striking! I wouldn't be surprised if beets do the same...will be interested to hear!

I just fed my chickens 25 liters of chopped beets left over from making beet kvass. i’ll let you know how it goes
If it does, I wonder if giving the chickens a bunch of beets when an antibiotic is administered would should you when the all clear for eating their eggs would be?

Plant chemicals do influence the yolk color.
I used to give my chicken hot and mild paprika. You can see in the picture the difference between their eggs and store bought eggs.
