Will ducks raise other ducklings?

So I posted earlier about my duck who lost all her eggs and we weren’t sure what happened. We have another duck also on a nest and she’s down to only five eggs left. Come to find out it was our chickens! Next season, we will either put fences around the ducks or keep the chickens locked up. I’m wondering, if I can buy some ducklings and either see if the mommas will raise them or just introduce them into the flock after they are big enough. What do you think? I’m sad for the mammas!

The only ducks that will possibly accept ducklings are brooding ducks. Regular ducks will not be careful or kind to ducklings and will likely injure or kill them

They were both broody until their nests lost eggs.

They will bounce back, just try it again next spring if you're prepared to add new babies. Make sure when you're hatching that you have a plan for males.
